caribou, bezeichnet ein nordamerikanisches rentier ebenso ein kanadisches getränk, das an unseren hierzulande üblichen punsch erinnert, darüberhinaus funktioniert es aber auch als künstlername des kanadischen musiker daniel snaith.
dieser macht elektronische musik und hat dabei ein lied geschaffen, das sich leichtfüßig anfühlt, während es von tragischem handelt.
hinzu kommen schnee, kanadische wälder, blut und leere blicke.

normalerweise bin ich bei guter-laune-musik immer eher vorsichtig, vor allem wenn schon eine textzeile à la "nothing is wasted, a life is worth living" vorkommt, mache ich darum lieber einen bogen.
diesem lied kann und will ich mich im moment aber nicht entziehen.
ein ohrwurm, der sich festgesetzt hat und jedes mal meine beine zucken lässt und dann auch noch das video:
boybands, dämonen und irgendwo im publikum dann noch hot chip - kunstpop und selbstironie äs its bäst.

as if there wouldn't be enough snow in front of my housedoor...
yesterday i went to see the movie nord about a guy who travels alone through norwegian winter landscape.
i just love this white landscapes where you can see nothing but snow and everything seems so endless.
the movie was nice, but quite "karg", not much action going on and short conversations but with a lot of nordic charm and cranky humour.

on whom can you depend? - song of the moment "swim (to reach the end)"

vielleicht hätte ich mal lieber gleich einen schwerpunkt mit songtiteln, in denen das wörtchen "swim" auftaucht (zur erinnerung hier), anlegen sollen, wer weiß, was sich da noch auftut...
für jetzt bleibts bei einem weiteren post eines liedes, das die körperliche ertüchtigung im wasser heranzieht und mit metaphorischer bedeutung anfüllt.
oder vielleicht liegt es auch einfach daran, dass die band aus palm beach, florida, stammt und einer affinität zum wasser frönt, wie schon der bandname surfer blood andeutet?!
"swim (to reach the end)" schmeckt zumindest nach sonne, salz und sand - eine feine indie-hymne gegen kalte wintertage.
